Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Bacon


– 10 oz Chinese broccoli
– 3 tbs oil
– 1 tbs minced garlic
– 1/4 cup oyster sauce
– 1/4 tsp each salt and ground white pepper
– 1 tsp sugar
– 1/2 cup chicken stock
– 5 oz crispy bacon, crumbled into small pieces


– Discard leaves and skin off broccoli and cut stems into lengths.
– Heat oil in a wok and when very hot, fry garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute, then add broccoli and stir-fry for a further 5-6 minutes.
– Add seasonings and stock, and add bacon.
– Allow to heat through and serve immediately.
